This year, more than ever, we’ve seen many great sharp looking college basketball brackets. Here’s just a peek at a few brands that really hit a slam dunk with their aesthetics:
1. P.C. Richard & Son, an electronic superstore, showcased their bracket on their homepage slider.

2. Famous Dave’s, a popular bar-be-que restaurant, boasts a “Million Dollar Madness” image that links to the contest.

3. Fathead (see Fathead Announces One Million Dollar Bracket Contests) posted both upfront and round-by-round bracket on their site for visitors.

With the approach of the NCAA playoff brackets, we are seeing creative and original brackets pop up on our UPICKEM affiliates’ sites. For example, check out this bracket contest from St. Louis Post-Dispatch – the paper pits all things St. Louis against each other to discover its readers’ favorite places, food, things & people from the city. Life Sherpa Joe Holleman wrote a column about the contest and even revealed his picks. As a gateway city resident, I am a bit partial to this contest – I’m rooting for the Zoo! (I also love the toasted ravioli arch!)

In honor of ActionFest making an appearance in their town, WTMT-FM (Asheville, NC) hosted an action hero throwdown with UPICKEM’s bracket engine contest. 4 quadrants were created to lead to the finals in which Rambo won (I would’ve voted for Maverick!). This is a very well-executed bracket contest, and it looks fantastic too.

Bracket contests tend to bring out the creative side in contest-makers/designers, this Love to Hate contest from 102.9 The HOG.com (Milwaukee, WI) is no exception. This station asks listeners to weigh in on their various likes and dislikes (American Idol, Brangelina, Octomom, etc.) – what a fun idea!

In the spirit of competition surrounding March Madness, The Daily Journal (Kankakee, IL) offers a fresh kind of bracket contest to its readers: a brew bracket! Local pubs and restaurants competed in this contest – sponsored by Tucci’s – to be crowned the best hang-out place to grab a pitcher and some grub.

Whether it be for high school, college or pro, fall is packed with football festivities. MySanAntonio.com (San Antonio, TX) hosts this contest designed especially for high school and college teams. Each week, users pick a winner for each match-up; what a great way to get involved with your school’s sports!
