Contestants had an entry fee, plus votes cost 25 cents a piece – the top 12 winners were featured in a calendar. All the money raised from Cutest Kids Contest benefited Newspapers in Education – the local children’s hospital sponsored the contest.

Contestants submitted a photo of their most creative sweet treat and encouraged friends and family to vote for their entry. Voters had to pay for each vote – Holiday Cupcake Creation raised $4,094.19 for Operation Santa Claus.
