Here’s a great contest idea to keep in your back pocket for next Halloween. Star-Tribune (Minneapolis, MN) gives readers a few basic items (this week: flannel shirt & jeans) and asks them to dream up their most creative costume idea with those pieces for a chance to win a cash card. Simple, clever and fun (plus a sponsorship from Goodwill) – all the ingredients to an awesome contest.

Montana is home to two great universities: The University of Montana & Montana State University. What a simple, fantastic contest. Bonus points for having an opt-in for their Today’s Deal program on the submission page!

KISS-FM asked listeners to upload a video of their acapella versions of one of two songs: “One Last Cry” by Brian McKnight or “Sweet Thing” by Chaka Khan. All entries get a chance to win $25,000 and a chance to open for Jill Scott & Anthony Hamilton. Not only does this contest look incredible, it generated excellent participation from the station’s audience. Great work!
