“Biggest Fans” is one of the top contests categories run on UPICKEM. “Bolt Fever” from The San Diego Union-Tribune is a testament to why these contests are so popular. Appealing graphics, a topic that reaches a large audience and high participation make this contest a touchdown.

Moments Magazine, part of The Statesboro Herald, partnered with Goodwill of the Coastal Empire for “Goodwill Fashionista Contest”. This clever contests asks readers to show off their most creative Goodwill outfits. The winner receives a Merle Norman makeover, $100 gift certificate to Goodwill, and best of all, to be featured on an upcoming Moments Magazine cover!

Pet contests are one of the most popular contests run on UPICKEM. KFMB-TV (San Diego, CA) put a truly unique spin on their “Is Your Pet A Couch Potato?” contest. Pets are always hanging out on our furniture and ruining cushions, so it’s only fitting that Lawrence (furniture store) was the exclusive sponsor of this sharp-looking contest. Not only is this an adorable contest, but it supports a good cause as well – for everyone who likes KFMB-TV’s Facebook Page, they will make a donation to Helen Woodward Animal Center. Excellent contest!

A few months ago, we blogged about The Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s “Pick the Peachtree Road Race Tee-Shirt” contest. The Peachtree Road Race is over. To continue capitalizing on the excitement around this very popular event, the paper is now hosting a contest where participants can share their photos from the race. Great idea to consider when there is a beloved tradition in your community!
