WCGV-TV (Milwaukee, WI) partnered with Serve (promotion/marketing agency), United Way and radio station 100.7 Jams for this video contest directed towards males 18+ in the Milwaukee market. The goal of the contest is to bring attention to teenage pregnancy and deadbeat dads by showcasing 30 seconds spots uploaded by fathers in the area about various topics that affect young males. One outstanding video will receive an Apple iPad and will be used to create a TV commercial. What a wonderfully unique contest!

What a rockin’ contest! Cornbread, a morning radio show host for WIL-FM (St. Louis, MO), hosts this idol competition for local wannabe country singers. In August, hopefuls sang their hearts out at Cornbread’s World Fair on and the WIL community has voted to narrow it down to the top 3 competitors. The Cornbread Idol winner will be awarded a trip for two to Nashville to compete at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge! Plus, one lucky listener wins a trip for two to the Tootsie’s 50th Anniversary Concert in Nashville just for voting. (Yes, even the voters win – this contest just keeps getting better!)

Bring it on! (Or is it Bring in on Again?) WGN-TV (Chicago, IL) asks local high school cheer squads to show off what their dedication and long hours of practice can produce with this video contest. With a perfect sponsor (CW upcoming show Hellcats), a stellar prize (appearance on WGN Morning News) and great branding, this contest is a keeper!

Local bands are vying for a chance to win this battle of the bands video contest from 93.3 KZOZ (San Luis Obispo, CA). One very, very lucky band wins the opportunity to open for Aerosmith at this year’s CA Mid-State Fair. How rockin’ is that?

“We’ve got spirit; yes, we do. We’ve got spirit; how about you?” PB Gametime (West Palm Beach, FL) – which focuses primarily on high school sports – hosted this video contest for local schools. A combination of votes, originality, creativity and student involvement crowned Glade Central Raiders the winners. Be sure to check out all the submissions – there are some excellent results!
